Health Ministries

What is Health Ministries?

Health ministry is a way of serving others by promoting the health of a faith community.  The work of the health ministry team is to determine the health needs of the congregation, provide resources and plan programs.  A parish nurse usually works with the team to organize information and programs, but the team members do not need to be health care workers to become involved.

What does the Health Ministry team do at Prince of Peace Church?
The work we do at Prince of Peace parish is primarily for the church members and the Back Mountain Community.  Currently, we offer printed health information, educational pamphlets, and local resources on a regular basis in the parish hall.  The information is seasonal and corresponds with national health awareness initiatives.    Some of the resources that have been made available in the parish hall can be accessed on the Health Ministry resources page.

Does the Episcopal Church support Health Ministry on a national level?
The Episcopal church is dedicated to health ministry within individual parishes as well as on a national level.  For information on national health ministry initiatives within the Episcopal church, please visit the National Episcopal Health Ministry Website.
