Prince of Peace hosted our Second U2charist on Saturday, May 10, 2008. The Youth raffled off a Product (RED) Ipod Nano, valued at $199. Proceeds from the raffle and the money collected at the offertory combined for almost $700 to benefit the Friends of the Tanzanian Schools.
What's a U2charist??
A U2charist is an Episcopal Eucharist service that uses the music of the band U2 and a message about God’s call to rally around the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs).This multimedia service uses the themes in U2 songs about global reconciliation, justice for the poor and oppressed, and the importance of caring for your neighbor. All money raised at a U2charist is donated in support of the MDGs.
