To be Instruments of God's Peace

“Healing Hands” by Silvia Hartman, used with permission

THE LAYING-ON-OF-HANDS FOR HEALING

“The Laying-On-Of-Hands for Healing”
is now offered at the
10:00 AM service
during communion
.

The Gospels tell us that in most of the “healing miracles” He performed, Jesus touched those whom He healed.    Yes, there were cases where healed people “from a distance”, without touching them. But in most cases he touched them.  Our Christian faith teaches us we His followers are to continue His healing ministry.  We are to “hold the sick up before Him by names in our prayers” and we are to touch them.

We know from experience that there is healing power in the human touch.  No doubt, we can all think of times in our lives when we have been healed, in part at least, by the touch of another person, and of other times when we have helped heal others by touching.

So, during communion, Chris Sutton will be at the rear of the church, near the Baptismal Font to offer the Laying-On-Of Hands for Healing.    You are invited to go to her, either before or after you have received communion.   Tell her what kind of healing you want.  She will then lay her hands on your head and offer a prayer to our Lord for you.  When she has concluded her prayer for you, simply return to your seat.

Please note four things. First, this is something you are “invited” not “required” to do. Second, even if you do not need to be healed, you are invited “to bring a friend or loved one” to Chris, simply by telling her the person’s name.    Third, understand that the healing the Lord gives you may be either instantaneous or gradual.   Finally, understand that the Lord, out of his loves for you will give you the kind of healing He thinks you need most, which may or may not be the kind of healing you think you most want.   But the Lord will make His healing presence know to your in your life in some way.   -  Fr. Jim
