What if instead of giving things up or taking things away for Lent, we added something?
If all of us donate a few things, can you imagine how many people we could help at the end of those 40 days? Let’s find out together!
The Prince of Peace Church School is sponsoring a Lenten project... 40 DAYS OF HELPING OTHERS. The project will kick off on Ash Wednesday and run through Palm Sunday.
This year we will be collecting items for children and young adults being helped by Luzerne County Children and Youth.
We are asking for donations of items that children being placed in temporary (or long term) care might need to help make the transition a bit smoother. The children can range in age from babies to teens. Some examples are... toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, hairbrushes, combs, ponytail holders, chapstick, soap, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, diapers, socks, phone chargers and anything else you can think of! We can also accept new or gently used bags, backpacks, etc for items to placed in.
We ask you to begin to collect items on Ash Wednesday and continue through Palm Sunday. You can bring items/donations in throughout Lent or wait and bring them all on Palm Sunday or Easter.
Thank you for supporting this project, which is very close to our hearts! Together we can spend the 40 days of lent helping others and making a positive impact on the lives of our friends and neighbors.
