What if instead of giving things up or taking things away for Lent, we added something?
If each of us donates a little, can you imagine how many people we could help at the end of those 40 days? Let’s find out together!
The Prince of Peace Church School is sponsoring a Lenten project... 40 DAYS OF HELPING OTHERS. The project will kick off on Ash Wednesday and run through Palm Sunday.
This year we will be donating blankets (NEW throw blankets, lap blankets, prayer shawls, bed-sized blankets, etc) to Residential Hospice for their patients.
We are asking for either monetary donation or donations of new blankets. If you set aside a small amount of money each day during lent, by the end there will be enough for a nice new blanket. For example, just $0.50 (fifty cents) a day would add up to $20 at the end of Lent. We are happy to do the blanket shopping, or if you want to shop we would be grateful for your new blanket donation.
We ask you to begin to collect items on Ash Wednesday and continue through Palm Sunday. You can bring money or blankets in throughout Lent or wait and bring them all on Palm Sunday or Easter.
Thank you for supporting this project! Together we can spend the 40 days of lent helping others and making a positive impact on the lives of our friends and neighbors.
